Walk, Shoot and Share!

Welcome to our new web site!

This site will provide a much better viewing experience for our photos then the older site.

The one wrinkle is that I was unable to port the password hashes from the old site. This means we will each have to create a new login on this site. The Signup-Login link is at the upper right hand corner of the page.

To keep the image quality up we are requiring that members post images that are at least 1400 pixels in the long dimension.

The old site will be available for another month or so here...

Quick Note: My Saturday workshop in Pacifica is on, so I will have to pass on the Big Sur/Point Lobos outing. Will look forward to seeing some posts from that shoot!

Will consider attending Big Sur/Point Lobos shoot. I have another workshop on Saturday that might get cancelled and if so I will try to attend the S3!

    Upcoming Photowalks...

     Concrete Canyons of SF

Join us for a walk through the concrete canyons of the SF Financial district. Lets have a look at how all the new glass buildings are coming along and do a little street photography and formalism.

We will walk several miles on sidewalks without hills and examine a variety of different parts of SF during our random wander. Somewhere along the route we will stop for a snack.

Let's meet at the FAA Gallery at 2:00 and leave for the Union City BART at 2:30pm. The weather is variable so check conditions and dress appropriately. We will walk around by the waterfront and it can be chilly.

You can bring a tripod if you like but street photography is a hand held sort of a thing...

     High Sierra Week Long Photowalk

Join us for an epic week long expedition in the Northern Sierra. This is the 8th year of this event and we always have a great time and get some incredible pictures. Stay for the whole time or just a few days as your schedule permits.

We base out of Lee Vining CA and camp at the Lower Lee Vining (now called Moraine) Campground. If you like hotels there are plenty in Lee Vining, be sure to book your room early as they fill up during the season.

During the week we will have several full day locations and a number of half day locations. I look for hikes that start at 10,00 feet and have minimal elevation gain. We will go directly up to the approaches to some 11,000'+ peaks.

    • Little Lakes Valley
    • 20 Lakes Basin
    • Tuolumne Meadows
    • Mono Lake
    • South Tufa
    • South Tufa Night Shoot
    • Black Point
    • Twin Lakes
    • Lots of Waterfalls

As we get closer to the event I will post more information.

Please RSVP for this as it gives me an idea of how many campers. We have been doing 4-5 tents per site.
